Shampoo-free Challenge

OK, so this might be gross but I'm prepared that at any moment I might break down and use shampoo to clean my hair at some point because 1) It's summer... 2) I'm going home in 2 weeks to see my family and friends whom I have not seen in years and the last thing I want is for my hair to be greasy! and 3) IT'S SUMMER!

So for my challenge I can't:

  • Use any commercial hair products like shampoo or conditioner.
Instead of shampoo and I have heard that baking soda mixed with water to form a paste is an amazing shampoo. I mixed 1 TBSP of baking soda with 2TBSP of water and mixed it all up. I have yet to use it. Stay tuned to hear about that one!

Instead of conditioner I am going to be using olive oil as previously blogged. I will only do this every 3 days or so followed by the baking soda mixture to wash out the oil. I shouldn't have to do the oil treatment all that often because with the baking soda mixture for shampoo, I wont be washing out my hairs natural oils on a daily basis so I wont need to restore the moisture artificially.

I'm hoping my hair will become healthier than ever before. I want it to be long and strong and full of life. I do enough damage to it by dyeing it blonde so I'd like to do this to help it out.

What I am planning to do for my hair can only be of benefit! So excited to try this out. WISH ME LUCK! Let's see how long I can last and what happens to my hair, shall we?
